I actually killed the starter in my fridge, but had frozen some in case of emergency and it came to life with ease. So, Son of Herman lives on in at least one place! :)Stephaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01172740013661415218noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7436582727672829057.post-50620311865866506172008-08-12T12:56:00.000-05:002008-08-12T12:56:00.000-05:00Good for you for making your own bread! :) That is...Good for you for making your own bread! :) That is great! Mine actually came from an active batch of starter purchased from King Arthur Flour, but I've never tried starting my own.

Amanda - Bread still intimidates me a bit (although my success improved when I resolved myself to a longer process with the sourdough), but I've found all sorts of great uses for starter.Lohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02627131190832189839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7436582727672829057.post-33102347610591344662008-08-11T11:21:00.000-05:002008-08-11T11:21:00.000-05:00Ditto Bunny!I am really interested in this...makin...Ditto Bunny!

I am really interested in this...making bread has always interested/intimidated me.
